Meet The Team

David Nurse - Founder

David Nurse is an experienced immigration and employment lawyer, and has also worked as a senior leader within government – as the Director of Nova Scotia’s Provincial Nominee Program.

Over the past decade, David has worked with numerous employers across Canada – from Newfoundland to Vancouver Island – facing labour shortages.  David understands the challenges that Canadian employers face in filling key positions, and also recognizes that newcomers to Canada are often overlooked by Canadian employers.

David’s vision in launching WeHireNewcomers.ca is to help employers connect with newcomers and with newcomer settlement agencies.  Businesses and not-for-profit settlement agencies don’t always speak the same language. David can translate.

David has learned how to effectively act across sectors, bridging the gaps that often exist between organizations in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. He is excited to be bringing his experience in law, government and immigration to WeHireNewcomers.ca.

David lives with his family in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.
